Home

Left Frankfurt this morning for a 10 hour flight to Houston. Victor got a photo of our plane as it flew over his house.  The business class lounge and our reclining seats were great! Not sure we will be able to go back to economy.
To prepare for today we took COVID tests and filled out US forms. We never were asked to show them. Crazy!

Zeppelin Museum

Zeppelinheim, the town where Victor lives is named for the Zeppelin. The workers that made the them lived there. Now many airport workers live in Zeppelinheim because it is so close to the Frankfurt airport.  We went to the museum today and enjoyed finding out about how air travel was popular for a while during the 30's and 40's. During a time where people only went distances on ships, this made it possible to go much faster, even though it still took days.
We took a trip to the vineyards and had some Riseling.
Johanninsburg Schloss
We had a nice walk between vineyards.
Getting ready to fill these soon.
This evening we hung out and watched the Frankfurt fußball game.

Bike to Mainz

Today we biked through the forest for a 42 km bike ride to Mainz on the Rhine. (26.1 Miles)
Stop along the way.
At the Main/Rhine connection.
The best potato's for a snack in Mainz.  Then we caught a train to the Stadium station and biked to the house.
Dinner was picked up by Vincent and Weronika. Vincent's favorite fast food, Turkish Döner.

Shopping in Frankfurt

Breakfast is big here and every morning starts with breads and spreads.
Then downtown to shop and have a Bratwurst. There is a market on Friday.
We went to Goethe Tower and the guys all climbed and took pictures.
This evening we ate at our favorite restaurant the Goldener Apfel. Good Schnitzel and potatoes. Bryan had Schnitzel and mushroom sauce. Above is Herr Schmidt's favorite pose. 😊
